Who We Are

College Mentors for Kids currently impacts over 2,500 children in the United States today. This program has proved that when a child is paired one-on-one with a mentor, they will ultimately do better in school. Many children in the program come from low income families, are first generation, etc. These factors contribute to the overall perspective that the children will have in regards to a higher education. Through College Mentors for Kids, children are provided with various interests during each weekly visit they have on campus. These activities include interactions with various colleges within the university, athletic teams, and extracurricular organizations. The purpose of this is to expose children to what all a higher education can hold.

The academic impact that this mentoring program provides is absolutely phenomenal. It has been reported that 81% of children in the program have improved academically. Additionally, statistics have shown than 75% of the children who participated in College Mentors for Kids in elementary school furthered their education via a university or trade school (Mentoring Impacts, 2017). In conclusion, this program can truly change the lives and mindsets of many children in local communities who need someone the most. By pairing children with their own mentor in their early years, we can benefit future generations to come!
